If you run into some terms you don’t know, you can look here!

Rep: Short for repetition. The amount of an exercise you do at once. If you do 12 pushups and stop, you did 12 pushup repetitions. Sometimes counted in seconds.

Set: A group of reps. If you do 12 pushups, rest, and do 12 more, you did 2 sets of 12 pushups.

Progression: A harder version of an exercise, but also used synonymously with “variation” sometimes.

Regression: An easier version of an exercise.

Calisthenics: Bodyweight exercise you do with your body and very little equipment.

Isometrics: Exercises with no movement. Examples are planks and wall sits.

Rest Time: The amount of time between sets.

Compound Exercise: An exercise that works multiple muscle groups at once.

To Failure: Doing an exercise set until you are unable to do anymore reps.

Hypertrophy: Muscle Growth.
